The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program has arrived in Hungary to help 30 rural women with business ideas and start-ups to launch their own companies. Participants will receive a 10-month business training course, during which they will learn the skills and knowledge of entrepreneurship and even create a business model for their own company.

Launched in 2019, the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program, which operates in 50 countries around the world, is implemented in Hungary by the Foundation for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and its professional partner Impact Hub Budapest, with the support of the US Embassy. Their aim is to provide knowledge, tools and networking opportunities for 30 rural women with entrepreneurial aspirations and start-ups to help their ideas flourish.

Participants in the program will complete a 10-month, 7-hour-a-week, online, English-language training course to gain up-to-date entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, and build a personalized, sustainable business model to turn their ideas into a long-term business. In November, USD 25,000 will be awarded to the most promising businesswomen based on their business plan and presentation.

„The mentoring and professional help I received in the early years played a huge role in the success of Matyodesign, which started in 2010. Today, the brand has more than 35 reseller partners and employs 27 women in Tard. It is a great pleasure for me to be an ambassador of such a great initiative and to help 30 women entrepreneurs like me to achieve their dreams,” Rozi Váczi, AWE 2021 Ambassador and founder of Matyodesign said.

The AWE Hungary 2021 program is open until May 2 for applications from women aged between 25 and 45 who do not live in the capital and have a business idea or an early-stage venture that needs to be implemented.
